Working Hours: Monday- Friday 8:00am 4:30pm

Rate of Pay: \$35,711.15

General Job Description:

The incumbent provides administrative assistance and secretarial duties for the Detention Center.

He/she ensures that all office functions are preformed efficiently and in a professional and timely manner to maintain office continuity. This position assists office staff, attorneys, Judge, and the general public with numerous tasks. The incumbent is essentially the \"gatekeeper\" for the office.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job education in a specific skill

area: plus 3 years related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education

and experience.

  • Basic office experience is preferred but not required
  • Must be familiar with complex machines and phone systems and have basic computer skills.
  • Must be familiar with scanners, copiers, and fax machines
  • Must be able to work well with others, multi-task with phones and customers, be reliable and

dependable

Basic Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greets all visitors to the Detention Center.
  • Answers and directs all incoming phone calls to appropriate department.
  • Assist the Captain/Jail Administrator with meeting schedules and informational needs.
  • Take Complaints from the public as needed, and forward the information on to the appropriate

person.

  • Purchase or assist in the purchasing of office supplies and minor equipment for the office.
  • Perform other secretarial duties which include work processing, data entry, photocopying,

faxing documents, filing, preparing and mailing correspondence.

  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
