We are looking for a driven and progressive Cost Engineer in the Conshohocken, PA metropolitan area to join our Project Controls Department to help us support our internal PM/CMs and our external Bio/Pharma clients.

As a key member of our Project Controls Team, you’ll provide the day to day support and execution of project controls functions for projects and programs. You may be supervising junior project controls staff and be responsible for cost control monitoring, analysis, forecasting, and reporting. You’ll manage overall projects and program cost controls and reporting function by supporting client management, updates, and presentations to all levels of management.

• 8+ years of cost analyst/ project controls experience on EPCMV life-cycle projects in the Life Sciences, Bio-Pharma industry preferred

• Work with a multi-disciplined group (Engineering and or Construction) to determine the EAC, the efficiency of both cost (CPI) and schedule (SPI), highlight the potential risk(s) to completion and their financial impact

• BIM 4D & 5D knowledge is required

• Implementing and evaluating earned value on projects to track progress in home office and or field construction projects

• Use analytical thinking ability to assist the project manager and or construction manager to develop the estimate at completion

• Specific experience in cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, change management, risk management, cost analysis, variance analysis

• Experience in project controls, commercial operations, with emphasis on scheduling, project controls, work breakdown structures and financial issues

• Develops and evaluates major program cost estimates and extended budget projections to identify and quantify critical budgetary, cost, schedule, technical, and programmatic risk factors

• Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements to assisting in forecasting the project at completion

• Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids and determining cost effectiveness.

• Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hours and related cost data or effect cost reductions.

• Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.

• May specialize according to particular service performed, type of product manufactured, or phase of work involved, such as tool and fixture costs, production costs, construction costs, or material costs.

• Contributes to development of new techniques and/or standards.

• Independently applies advanced techniques and analysis.

• Knowledge of Engineering and Construction techniques and their costs impacts

• Develop change notices in a timely fashion in connection with the PM/CM

• Understands Accounting Standard Codification 606 and how it impacts the reporting of the projects margin

• Coordinates requirements for project managers and implements specific control procedures.

Please note: This position is a Hybrid position and will require to be in the Conshohocken, PA office 2 times a week

Ideally, here’s what you’ll also have:

• Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Construction Management, or equivalent relevant work experience in lieu of degree

• Cost Engineering /Project Controls experience on EPCMV Bio/Pharma Projects

• Experience building and maintaining Primavera P6 resource loaded schedules

• Advanced Excel, MS Access and/or Power BI skills

• High degree of Emotional Intelligence, team player mentality, coachable

• Prolog, EPCMV project life cycle experience (home office & field construction)
