Shipping and Receiving Assistant

Shift: Days

Pay: $18.00 Hour

Are you ready to be part of a dynamic and fast-paced work environment? We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Shipping and Receiving Assistant. If you possess excellent forklift driving skills, have a strong sense of time organization, and are committed to maintaining a clean and efficient workspace, then this is the perfect opportunity for you! We are willing to provide training, but prior forklift experience is a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean, neat, and member-ready area, ensuring a pleasant and organized environment for both employees and customers.

  • Unload trucks and deliveries promptly, efficiently sorting and stocking receivables to ensure timely availability of stock.

  • Keep an accurate log sheet of daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting items with precision to maintain inventory accuracy.

  • Engage with vendors and drivers with a positive and professional attitude, fostering strong working relationships.

Requirements:

  • Excellent forklift driving skills, with the ability to operate the equipment safely and efficiently, even in a fast-paced setting.

  • Proficiency in using an RF scanner to scan materials in and out of bin locations, ensuring accurate tracking of inventory.

  • Loading and unloading experience, demonstrating skill in handling various types of shipments and optimizing space utilization.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with team members, vendors, and drivers.

  • Exceptional time organization and a sense of urgency, enabling you to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.

  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, contributing to a positive and cooperative work environment.

Additional Information:

This is a temporary position with the opportunity for growth within our organization. As we value the safety of our employees, it is essential that you adhere to all safety rules, including wearing safety glasses and earplugs while on the production floor. Additionally, steel-toe shoes are required for this role.
