Carrier Manager Indirect Tax Compliance in Connecticut

This is an excellent opportunity for highly motivated individual to be the Industrial Fire’s sales & use and property tax compliance manager. This role is highly dynamic and will support cash management and aide in a successful transition of the Industrial Fire business from Carrier to Sentinel Capital Partners in Q3 2024.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead sales tax and property tax compliance, and audits

  • Manage return filing processes, payments,

  • Maintain external outsource firms and advisors for sales tax and property tax compliance

  • Handle complex sales/property tax audits and appeals,

  • Support finance, operations and supply management with transactional tax guidance including contract reviews and related guidance

  • Meet controls for tax compliance

  • Conduct sales/property tax planning as needed

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ Degree

  • 3+years of sales and use tax experience with a significant emphasis on management of processes, preferably for a large, multistate, corporate tax or accounting firm environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ Degree in accounting, finance or related field

  • Property tax compliance experience a plus

  • Thorough understanding of sales, use and property tax law and compliance processes

  • Understand the functionality of transaction tax software, with an emphasis on Thomson Reuters’ OneSource and Tax Compliance’ PTMS

  • Good interpersonal skills, including ability and desire to communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with others throughout Tax and Finance organizations at Business Units

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and under pressure

  • Ability to motivate others to work towards established deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Active participant in career development and succession planning processes

  • Teamwork – desire to work with others and share responsibilities

Pay Range:

$112,828 - $157,959 Annually
