Description:

The main duties of the Quality lab technician is to execute test methods (Density, Moisture analysis, Spectroscopy, and other wet chem tests). maintain an understanding of lab equipment operation and safety protocols and be a team player and complete daily tasks. Below are more details.

Test Methods and Procedures: Execute assigned test methods and procedures meticulously, adhering to established guidelines and protocols to ensure consistent and reliable results.

Understanding of Equipment:

Demonstrate a solid grasp of laboratory equipment operation and safety requirements to perform tasks effectively and maintain a safe working environment.

Understanding of Projects / Technical Expertise:

• Comprehend and follow daily task requirements and project goals.

• Apply basic technical knowledge to tasks that do not require extensive expertise.

• Identify and report deviations from expected results promptly.

Independence:

  • Receive daily or weekly task lists and effectively manage time and resources to accomplish assignments.

  • Collaborate with other lab members to optimize equipment utilization and complete tasks efficiently.

  • The candidate will be trained to work on 3rd shift, and they will be on this shift by themselves so they must be self-motivated, disciplined, and reliable.

Reporting of Results/Computer Skills:

• Utilize Excel sheets with pre-programmed formulas to enter and organize results accurately.

• Proficiently use lab management software for training, environmental health and safety (EHS) compliance, and input/output (IOs) and work order management.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or completion of a relevant Technical Training Program and have taken a chemistry course in school and have basic lab knowledge.

• Strong commitment to adhering to procedures and safety protocols.

• Basic understanding of laboratory equipment operation.

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and lab management software.

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage tasks independently.

• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in recording and reporting results.

Physical Requirements:

• Continuously stand, stoop, bend, kneel, reach, push/pull, etc.

• Walking short distances through the department/building.

• Use hands/arms to pick and carry product and operate required equipment.

• Lift objects up to 33 lbs.
