Vision Software Engineer

Researches, designs, and develops vision software systems in conjunction with hardware product development.
Estimates, quotes, designs, and codes software modules and complex systems requiring innovative, state-of-the-art, or specialized knowledge.
Develops large software applications and utilities involving vision system interfaces, statistical modeling, and image processing.
May assist in defining machine architectures and machine vision recognition technology roadmaps.
Handles all aspects of product development, support issues, vendor and customer interaction.
Collaborates with Electrical Engineers, Software Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Systems Engineers, and Quality Engineers on product performance requirements, design, test and development activities.
May act as lead engineer and/or project director, coordinating activities between other engineering disciplines, including electrical, software, mechanical, systems, test, manufacturing and technical publications.
Assists technical publications in the development of customer documentation. Determines forms, procedures, and other documentation needed for installation and maintenance of application software.
Evaluates machines or products on the manufacturing floor for system related problems and recommends corrective action.
May assist customers in developing process parameters for new technologies in product applications.
Determines applicability and use of software tools, testing and debug methods.
May train new employees and assigns and monitors their work.
Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
Experience programming in C & C#
Master's Degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering or electrical engineering
Experience with machine vision: Image acquisition and analysis
Knowledge of embedded systems hardware
Experience with programming of embedded systems
Knowledge of controls programming
Knowledge of Ethernet communications including TCP and UDP
Knowledge of FPGA programming
Responsibility for Quality Procedures or Direct Product Quality:
Adheres to Universal Quality System policies and procedures and uses Total Cycle Time principles and standard problem solving tools to continuously improve work processes.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to access and manipulate various objects, tools, or controls.
Requires the ability to use a computer on a frequent basis.
Position requires the ability to understand and interpret detailed documents and drawings.
Requires the ability to communicate clearly in giving presentations.
Must be able to communicate clearly with fellow workers.
The ability to travel to customer sites or technical conferences may occasionally be required.
