Description

Our East Bay client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Residential Property Accountant to join their team. The Residential Property Accountant will play a key role in managing the financial aspects of our residential properties, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of accounting for residential properties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.

  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, rent payments, and other financial transactions related to residential properties.

  • Reconcile bank statements and maintain accurate financial records for each property.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for property owners and stakeholders.

  • Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting for residential properties.

  • Collaborate with property managers to address financial inquiries and resolve discrepancies.

  • Monitor rental income and expenses, identifying opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.

  • Assist in the preparation of annual audits and tax filings for residential properties.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in residential property accounting.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required, Yardi a plus

• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Knowledge of Accounting Functions is necessary

• Must have experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with Budget Processes is required

• Ability to manage Cash Activity is necessary

• Experience in Account Reconciliation is expected

• Must be proficient in Bank Reconciliations
