Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist

Our mission at Rapid Recovery, part of the A-Gas, is to protect and enhance the environment by reducing global warming gases and preventing their release into the atmosphere. We are looking for an?Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHandS) Specialist?to work with our EHandS team to support the Rapid Recovery Network, which consists of 26 locations across the US. This role will be in and support up to 13 locations on the West Coast.

This position will assist in developing and managing the safety and environmental programs for site locations within the network, to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and environmental laws. This position must lead by example and help support a remote workforce with the goals of reducing work-related accidents/injuries, developing a positive safety culture, and maintaining regulatory compliance.

This will be a high-travel position that will require approximately 50% of the time working in the field with the network teams.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Build positive and productive relationships focused on growing an A-Gas Safety culture with all levels of the Rapid Recovery network
  • Develop EHS programs (including procedures, training,etc)
  • Perform Risk Assessments and Job Safety Analyses
  • Observe jobs in the field (including rooftops, construction/demo sites,etc)
  • Perform EHS inspections of shops
  • Facilitate incident investigations (including root cause analysis), write effective corrective actions, and drive them to closure
  • Collect EHS data and perform simple trend analysis
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Occupational, or Environmental Health and Safety plus 3-5years experienceor 5-7years experiencein lieu of degree.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel,PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Understanding of regulatory bodies such as the EPA, OSHA, and DOT and their regulations
  • Understanding of state-specific regulations for California,Washington,and Oregon
  • Strong computer, project management, and organizational skills
  • Experience withsoftware programs such asSAP Learning,Power BI,HSI, Samsara, and Safety Culture (iAuditor)is desirable but notrequired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Responsible for managing their own time effectively,identifyingpossible barriersto getting the work done, and seeking support when needed
  • Must be able tomaintaineffective communication virtually and in person
  • Experience with Fleet and Vehicle Safety preferred but notrequired
  • Ability to travel at least 50%

Pay will be commensurate with experience. The targeted annual salary is $75,000 - $110,000 depending on experience.
