Navistar, Inc. Pre-Production Testing Supervisor in Commerce City, Colorado

Position Overview

Navistar has an exciting new opportunity for Pre-Production Testing Supervisor to join our research and development team in Commerce City, Colorado at our vehicle testing facility! This role will support year-round testing. Some key responsibilities would include working on commercial vehicles, day-to-day operations in a shop environment and working cross functionally with engineering teams to ensure project schedules and other requirements are met.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining and ordering shop equipment and supplies necessary for facility operations

  • Perform maintenance, repairs, retrofits and assist with testing of class 4 to 8 commercial trucks and trailers

  • Work with engineering teams and field technicians to diagnose mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures

  • Perform Federal Annual Inspections

  • Use problem solving skills to accomplish assigned tasks, while documenting observations in reports

  • Communicate with in-person and remote staff on the status of the projects

  • Use Microsoft Office or other programs for assignments

  • Electrical troubleshooting and diagnostics

  • Support hot and cold weather vehicle testing

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least 3 years of production/manufacturing/operations experience

OR

  • Master’s degree

  • At least 1 year of production/manufacturing/operations experience

OR

  • At least 5 years of production/manufacturing/operations experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)

Desired Skills

  • Fleet Experience Preferably Class 6 and Class 8 vehicles

  • Mechanical Aptitude

  • Diesel powertrain experience

  • Familiarity of Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requirements

  • CDL (Commercial Drivers License)

  • Independent self-starter

Benefits and Compensation

Navistar provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The annual salary range for this role is $72K - 100K a year.
