PRIME AE Group, Inc. (www.primeeng.com), a multi-faceted and rapidly growing architectural and engineering firm with 20 office locations and over 475 employees throughout the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Northeast areas, is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a TSMO | Senior Traffic Engineer in one of our Transportation offices (Jacksonville, Tampa, Lexington, Harrisburg, Columbus, Fairfax, Richmond or Baltimore). Position Overview: The successful candidate will perform work for our diverse clientele which includes KYTC, VDOT, DDOT, MDOT SHA, FDOT, MDTA, DDOT, and various local jurisdictions. Primary Responsibilities: Assist with traffic analysis and design of transportation projects. Design signing, pavement markings, traffic control signals, temporary traffic control devices and lighting. Complete traffic engineering studies, traffic analyses and modeling, and transportation management plans (TMP). Evaluate traffic operations, signal timing, signal phasing, coordination, safety, congestion, bicycle and pedestrian needs for intersections and corridors. Assist with the development of preliminary design through construction documents, cost estimates, and specifications development. Assist with review of traffic studies and other traffic engineering documents. Minimum Requirements: 5 - 10 years' experience in Traffic Engineering or TSMO/ITS. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required. Master's degree preferred. Strong oral and technical writing skills. Ability to handle multiple assignments. An attitude and commitment to work cooperatively with others. Ability to analyze complex traffic issues and alternates and prepare cogent recommendations. Experience in the design of traffic control devices including signing, pavement markings, traffic control signals and temporary traffic control devices. Familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, Highway Capacity Manual, Highway Safety Manual, Vision Zero, and ADA regulations. Working knowledge of traffic modeling including Synchro/SimTraffic, CORSIM, and HCS. Proficiency in Open Roads and/or AutoCAD is preferred. PE is required and PTOE is preferred. Experience working on traffic engineering projects for one or more clients listed above is required and ability to on KYTC, VDOT, and MDDOT SHA projects preferred.
