As a Senior Lead Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Tech, Infrastructure Platforms team, you are an integral part of a team that works to develop high-quality architecture solutions for various software applications and platforms products. You drive significant business impact and help shape the target state architecture through your capabilities in multiple architecture domains.

Job responsibilities

  • Research to find root causes for the most impactful technology production incidents

  • Provides technical feedback and proposes improvements to critical architectures

  • Guides evaluation of current technology and leads evaluation of new technologies using existing standards and frameworks

  • Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors

  • Drives decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes

  • Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus

  • Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firm wide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle

  • Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies

  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience

  • Demonstrable influencing skills that can create a culture of change, excellence and innovation which constructively challenges the status quo and leads to prudent implementation

  • Create effective partnerships, cooperating with clients, leaders across our business, and application architects to define technology and architecture roadmaps

  • Possess and maintain a strong working knowledge of multi-platform technical environments. Serve as a leader, consultant, mentor, or tutor in technical architecture areas of expertise to staff

  • Have a broad and deep expertise in software and infrastructure architecture or equivalent amount of time in development with a minimum of five years focused on large system development and with a good understanding of infrastructure

  • Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines, knowledge in at least one area of technical architecture

  • Strategic thinking and passion for business strategy and business processes

  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight

  • Ability to evaluate current and emerging technologies to select or recommend the best solutions for the future state architecture

  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Ability to perform investigation and analysis of the firm's most critical technology flows

  • Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills, including ability to negotiate compromise and demonstrate diplomacy in sensitive situations as well as interact effectively with peers and management across diverse cultures and fast-paced environment
