Covetrus North America, LLC Senior Accountant (Remote - ideally commutable to Columbus, OH on occasion) in Columbus, Ohio

SUMMARY The Senior Accountant maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. This person can sit remotely. Ideally someone who is able to come into our Dublin, Ohio office location a few times per month but we have flexibility. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Participatein the monthly financial closing process. Help ensure process is performed in accurate and timely manner. Account for vendor rebate, margin reimbursement and free goods programs. Work with FP&A, Procurement, Marketing, and Customer Effectiveness Departments to ensure that all programs are properly identified and tracked and related vendor receivables are properly recorded and collected. Month end tracking, review, and reconciliation of expense accruals. Month endCapExanalysisand rollforward. Perform basic reconciliationsofgeneral ledger account balances including appropriate support.Investigate and resolve reconciling items in a timely fashion. Assist inthe monthlyand quarterlyproduction of financial statements, footnotes,and management reports. Review statementsand reports for accuracy and appropriateness. Provide support to other Finance Department associates as well as field personnel. Assist with attainment of departmental KPI targets each month.Support completion of departmentalgoals. Assist with the collection of sample data for SOX testing. Maintain SOXdocumentationfor review by management and internal and external auditors. Assistwith internal and external auditors for quarterly and year-end audits, providing supporting schedules, account analysis, reconciliations and roll-forwards. Identify andproposeprocess improvements where applicable. Perform other special duties requiring independent judgment and skills. Experience: 3+ years Corporate Accounting CPA a plus Experience with monthly & quarterly production of financial statements Experience with SOX testing Experience with ledger accounts and ledger reconciliation Experience with month & quarterly financial closes Salary may vary depending on factors such as confirmed job-related skills, experience, and location.
