Sales Representative - Domestic Foundry (Western Mi-Northern IN)

Allied Mineral Products is a leading manufacturer of monolithic refractories worldwide. We are seeking a qualified Sales Representative in the Western Michigan, Northern Indiana area. This position develops and executes sales of refractory products and services offered by Allied Mineral Products (“Allied”) to a diverse refractory market, primarily foundry related. Develops and maintains relationships with current and potential customers to expand our market presence and increase sales. Maintains a high level of written and verbal communication with colleagues at Allied and customers.

Key Dutied:

  • Develop and maintains relationships with current and potential customers.

  • Work independently out of a home-based office with minimal direct supervision.

  • Identifies customer needs and utilize resources within Allied to bring solutions to the customer utilizing Allied’s refractory and resale product line.

  • Communicates regularly through Allied’s customer relations management (CRM) system; this includes documentation of sales opportunities, activity, refractory applications, industry news from meetings and conversations with customers. Alternate communications methods are also utilized depending on the information that is being documented and/or facilitated.

  • Complete sales reports, forecasting, expense reports and other reporting requirements in a timely manner meeting required deadlines.

  • Develop and complete sales quotations for customers to purchase Allied products and services.

  • Complete necessary engineering and precast shape request forms required to receive engineering support and precast shape design and quote.

  • Communicate promptly with customers (may be off hours and on weekends) to meet their needs.

  • Be accountable for the entire sales process:

  • Prospect new opportunities with current and new accounts.

  • Obtain purchase orders.

  • Interact with customer relations, accounting, and others to assure orders are correctly entered and customer required delivery is met.

  • Coordinate field service support if needed either personally or with Allied service representatives.

  • Be present for product installation and document material installation and application.

  • Create case studies when appropriate for new applications.

  • Create and work to achieve goals related to sales and personal development and align activities to achieve these goals.

  • Be comfortable utilizing Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel).

  • Complete required training assignments in Allied Learning Center in allotted time.

  • Regular daily travel as needed to achieve sales goals.

  • Stay within allotted expense budget.

  • Participate in annual sales meeting, training, regional meetings, and industry sponsored conferences, meetings, etc.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience in the metals industry or sales desired.

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of sales experience or relevant experience working in or around foundries or heavy industry. Experience working with refractories is a benefit.

  • Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must have solid interpersonal skills and be self-motivated.

  • Must possess or be willing to obtain all required licenses and keep them current.

Working Environment

  • Work out of home-based office.

  • Often working in heavy industry locations.

  • Required to wear appropriate PPE per Allied’s Safety & Health policy.
