Robert Half Programmer/Analyst: III (Senior) in Columbus, Ohio

Description We are offering an opportunity for a Programmer Analyst in Columbus, Ohio. This role is critical within our software development team, focusing on the creation and modification of complex technical computer software. This position will frequently interact with external vendors and internal teams, ensuring the smooth function of our software systems.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and modify complex technical computer software to meet project deadlines

• Provide technical support to programming and operations areas

• Work with other systems programmers to develop, install, modify, and maintain the operation system software products and/or subsystems for network management, performance, and capacity management

• Lead the testing, debugging, and modifications of software applications and validate their efficient use and integration

• Support complex computer software such as utility programs, job control language macros, and subroutines

• Provide technical advice on the operating system and subsystems, including performance monitoring and measurement activity

• Assist with the training of less experienced Systems Programmers

• Troubleshoot and solve problems in a Windows and UNIX environment

• Understand job schedulers to create jobs, including tasks and processes

• Comfortable with at least one type of shell scripting Power ShellKSH Bash Perl WLS etc.

• Understand System change control processes

• Write queries for Oracle and SQL databases

• Use monitoring tools like Dynatrace, Zenoss, Splunk, and log files to evaluate the health of mission-critical production applications and to identify root causes for performance and functional issues. Requirements • Demonstrated proficiency in programming and system analysis

• Experience with Oracle integration and monitoring tools

• Familiarity with Windows OS and other operating systems

• Strong knowledge of best practices in programming and system administration

• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues

• Experience in designing, supporting, and maintaining workstations

• Ability to create, execute, and manage validation plans

• Proficiency in writing and optimizing queries

• Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service mindset

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to create clear and concise technical documentation

• Experience in providing technical support and training to users

• Knowledge of change management practices and operations

• Familiarity with production monitoring and operations

• Proficiency in Power BI and other data visualization tools
