Job Description

Hours: Monday - Friday 10:00 am - 6:30 pm & every other SA/SU 10:00 am - 6:30 pm

Objective s:

Specialty Rx’s sole purpose is to provide quality service. Therefore, the highest priority of each employee is to give top-quality service to our customers and staff, whether directly, or through the support of others. The following job description is only the primary means by which this will be accomplished.

Position Summary:

Under general supervision of a supervisor, and in accordance with local, state, federal and company laws and regulations pre-pack all medications for further distribution.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Perform duties assigned by the supervisor and/or licensed pharmacist.

  • Receive incoming medications from Purchasing Department.

  • Transfer medications from bottles to the appropriate number of bingo and blister cards.

  • Responsible for the maintenance of pre-packing equipment (e.g. changes brushes and clean equipment when packing different medication)

  • Label bingo and blister cards appropriately.

  • Transport pre-pack medication, checked by the pharmacists, to the pharmacy area.

  • Perform Pharmacy Technician duties when necessary and during a “slow” time.

  • Continue to educate by attending drug in-services and by keeping up with policy changes.

  • Clean and help maintain equipment and work areas according to prescribed methods.

  • Perform other duties as requested.

    Education, Knowledge and Skills:

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent

  • Licensed with Ohio Board of Pharmacy

  • Accurate medication and generic knowledge

  • Computer literate

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to work independently

  • Must be detail oriented
