::: {dir="ltr"} Position Summary:

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for Parking Maintenance Specialist at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The Parking Maintenance Specialist is responsible for participating in the day-to-day functions of maintaining the cleanliness and functioning of the garages and or parking lots on GCCC property, delivering outstanding guest service, assist customers with entry/exit equipment questions, and reporting safety or liability hazards and working closely with parking and security management to protect company assets.

 

Must be able to work Thursday -- Sunday 1st, 2nd, & 3rd shifts available.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to read, write and communicate verbally in English.
  • Aid with projects.
  • Ability to function as a cashier or traffic attendant if needed.
  • Be able to use equipment including sweepers, power washers, etc.
  • Use two-way radio for communication with management, security, and staff.
  • Write down complaints and refer complainants and/or customers to the appropriate parking supervisor.
  • Report all unusual situations, accidents, and suspicious people to the supervisor.
  • Perform all maintenance and cleaning tasks noted on checklists and as directed by the facility manager/supervisor to ensure that all dirt, dust, litter, and debris is removed from all areas of the facility using brooms, mops, brushes, and other hand tools.
  • Make multiple rounds daily to pick up and discard trash and debris. 
  • Empty all trash receptacles inside and out, including offices. 
  • Note and report burned out light bulbs and any malfunctions of equipment.
  • Clean all spills. 
  • Submit requests for repairs or maintenance. 
  • Follow Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
  • Clean all Restrooms.
  • Keep an inventory of janitorial supplies. 
  • Maintain a daily janitorial service sheet. 
  • Operate commercial cleaning equipment, as applicable for the job. 
  • Shovel and clean, snow from the entrance or exit ramps and in areas designated by the Facility Manager using shovels and other cleaning equipment.
  • Responsible for keeping the workstation area clean, neat, and uncluttered.
  • Maintains a neat and clean personal appearance.
  • Answer inquiries or provides information to parking patrons on GCCC property about campus activities or locations.
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests in a friendly, courteous, and polite manner. This will include initiating contact with guests within 10 feet -- i.e., smiling, saying "Good Day", or helping when needed.
  • Must feel comfortable when around large groups or speaking to a guest, as needed.
  • Understands the importance of providing customer service and in understanding of "The Magic is in the Details."
  • All other duties as assigned.

     

Knowledge:  The applicant must be familiar with cash handling procedures. Must have a good aptitude for figures and ability to communicate diplomatically with patrons, supervisors, managers, and directors on GCCC property.

 

Experience: Customer service experience dealing with the public.

 

Skills/Aptitudes: Must possess the ability to interact with all types of people. Must be able to have a good relationship with co-workers, customers, vendors, and visitors to the facility. This position requires the ability to respond :::
