Allied Mineral Products Maintenance Technician in Columbus, Ohio

Allied Mineral Products, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of monolithic refractories worldwide, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio.

We are looking for an energetic, motivated and results individual to join our Maintenance Team.

Salary range: $25 - $37 (based on experience)

Plus $750 sign on bonus.

Plus 4% shift premium

Hours:

3:30pm - 2:00am Mon - Thu

Job Description and Qualifications :

You should have a minimum of 2- 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in the following areas:

  • Electrical

  • Controls

  • Low and Medium AC and DC voltage

  • Motors

  • Instrumentation

  • Electrical print reading

  • Mechanical

  • Drive Systems (V-belts, gears, chain drives, gearboxes)

  • Bearing installation and maintenance

  • Couplings & shaft alignment

  • Packing and seals

  • Lubrications

  • Dust collectors and fans

  • Mechanical print reading

  • Hydraulics

  • Air Compressors

  • Forklift and battery maintenance

  • Docks and Overhead door maintenance

  • People skills/Soft skills

  • Verbal and written communication

  • Self-motivation

  • A strong working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (work order, purchasing and inventory) and a general knowledge of industrial electrical maintenance are preferred.

  • Possess experience in maintenance in manufacturing, industrial, heavy commercial or similar backgrounds.

  • Dependable and able to maintain the attendance required to perform the job.

  • Demonstrate either by interviews, performance, tests, experience or through observation by others, mechanical and electrical aptitude, skills and or potential.

  • Individuals must be dependable, have good performance, communications, interpretation skills, and willing to take direction.

  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and fully understand: SOPs, SDSs, labeling, safety and health regulations, and procedures within the job, this job group and the plant.

Working Environment

  • The job is in a dusty and dirty environment.

  • Working in a hot and/or cold environment.

  • Required to wear respirator, safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform heavy and arduous tasks.

  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.

  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.

  • Must be physically able to climb ladders, or crawl into awkward spaces.

  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.

  • Must be able to work in elevated platforms.

  • Must be able to qualify for and wear a respirator.
