GRANGE INSURANCE COMPANY Lead Test Engineer in Columbus, Ohio

Position: Lead Test Engineer, Grange Insurance Company, Columbus OH. Duties: Work with the cross-functional teams to identify testing requirements to execute and minimize maintenance costs. Work with application development teams in solution design to ensure testability of functions, data and applications. Develop strategies to minimize total cost of quality with various test solutions. Provide oversight and direction on the Functional aspects across Policy Center, Billing Center, Claims Center and Data Hub. Work with the teams on Organizational and Operational change management, STLC (Software Test Life Cycle) and Agile methodologies. Provide oversight and review of automated test scripts for team and project deliverables. Use code analysis tools and use unit test coverage and code complexity to create comprehensive test strategy. Leverage SQL for database inquiries in Data Hub, test automation tools and frameworks to support Guidewire applications. Establish standards for the performance testing initiatives across Guidewire applications utilizing tools such as Jmeter. Establish and ensure adherence to architecture standards, data management policies, lead presentation in architecture review, strategic automation directions, best practice development, and code reviews. Identify areas for improving efficiency, shortening of test cycles, and automation of test scripts. Provide inclusive leadership, effective coaching for performance and career development of the team. Negotiate, communicate, and deliver effective automated test solutions to both development and Test Engineering organizations. Partner to influence timeline tollgates, high quality requirements, design and strategic contingency planning. Correlate issues, risks and synergies across multiple projects and applications. Utilize tools like Jira for Test case and defect management. Implement suitable continuous integration frameworks enabling early identification of defects and higher quality software. Collaborate with Business partners across all phases of Software Test life cycle for delivering quality products. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field plus 5 years of experience in Software Testing with at least 2 years in a Lead role; 5 years of experience in tools such as Jira, ETL, or JMeter; 2 years of experience in performance testing; 5 years of experience in Guidewire technology.
