The candidate will play a key role in enhancing modern applications or modernizing legacy applications leveraging cloud computing where applicable. Provides technical and consultative support on technical matters. Analyzes, designs, and develops systems based upon business requirements. Usage of various design patterns and adherence to framework guidelines in place with latest version of the technology. Experience with agile development. Will be part of a highly collaborative, cross-functional scrum team to design and develop digital solutions bridging the gap between business requirements and technical solutions, ensuring seamless data flow and system interoperability.

Job Summary:

The Integration Architect will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing integration solutions that connect various systems, applications, and platforms within the bank. This role requires a deep understanding of integration patterns, technologies, and best practices to ensure seamless data flow and process automation across the digital ecosystem.

As a leader within our Application Development team, you will be a technical leader who partners with business stakeholders and works with product development teams to design and implement architecture that enables quality of highly integrated applications. This Architect will also work with business and IT leadership to develop and maintain product-level roadmaps supporting business and technology strategies. Support the strategic goals of the bank, including alignment with strategic capabilities, target architectures & technology standards.

This candidate will participate in one or more project teams, supporting the design and modeling the architecture related solutions, component identification, quality reviews and adherence to policies, standards, guidelines and procedures. A regular task this individual will do is review the existing business processes and establish metrics to improve business processes as well as support all architectural disciplines under their direction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architecture Design:

  • Design and document integration architectures, including the development of high-level and detailed architectural diagrams, ensuring alignment with business objectives and IT strategy.

  • Consult with application or infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to architecture and identify when it is necessary to modify the solution architecture to accommodate project needs.

  • Gain and apply understanding of Huntington's Core Modernization principles consisting of REST APIs and Enterprise Event Hub.

  • Understand and apply Huntington information security and cyber-security standards.

  • Integration Development:

  • Lead the development and implementation of integration solutions using middleware, APIs, and other integration technologies.

  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable.

  • Ensure all the guidelines for API development and best practices are followed.

  • Implement security measures to protect data integrity and privacy during integration.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software developers, business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements, design solutions, and provide technical detailed design documents .

  • Technical Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship to integration developers, ensuring best practices are followed in coding, testing, and deployment.

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging integration technologies and trends. Recommend and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of integration solutions.

  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for integration processes, configurations, and architectures.

  • Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Support team resolving production issues and providing optimal solution. Ability to diagnose problems in a financial distributed environment

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, GCP/AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as an architect driving/leading integration architecture, design, and development..

  • Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of API management, RESTful and SOAP web services.

  • Experience with cloud integration platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS).

  • Knowledge of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL) and data modeling.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Experience with event driven architecture and event sourcing. Worked with messaging frameworks such as Kafka.

  • Efficient in programming languages commonly used for microservices Java EE, Java generics and concurrent programming. Microservices framework spring boot.

  • Soft Skills:

  • Highly motivated with strong organizational, analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities and effectively prioritize them.

  • Willingness and drive to learn and understand detailed software solutions.

  • High level of professionalism and confidence with the ability to build credibility with leadership, team members, and business partners and establish effective working relationships.

  • Ability to problem-solve, plan, scope, and provide estimates for work effort, producing quality deliverables on time and on budget.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels and explain technical concepts clearly and concisely to multiple layers of peers and leadership.

  • Work effectively in teams as well as independently across multiple tasks while meeting aggressive timelines.

  • Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in the banking or financial services industry.

  • Familiarity with digital originations processes and systems. Experience working.

  • Knowledge of security and compliance standards in the financial sector.
