JOB SUMMARY:

The Rental Inside Sales Rep develops an understanding of the needs of the customer for the Cat Rental Store while focusing on contacting dormant and inactive accounts, prospects, and specified market segments. Through telemarketing efforts, they develop relationships with smaller customers and prospects and create leads. They will be a knowledgeable equipment resource for customers, helping them understand their equipment options, and providing access to product information, and details on Ohio CAT Rental services.

Leads from Caterpillar will be manually entered into SalesLink by the ISR and the opportunity and lead stages will be managed properly according to established protocol.

The ISR influences purchasing decisions and generates leads. Working with the sales reps, they qualify and turn over leads and then facilitate sales, assisting with documentation. Customer calls are made within a defined territory and are for the purpose of updating customer data, extending reach on marketing campaigns, and generating leads for the sales reps. The ISR maintains and updates customer information and logs all contact activity in the company CRM, Sales Link. The ISR is also a source of information to the SARRs and Rental Representatives in their defined coverage area on activity in their respective territories based on data from Dodge, IIR, and other relevant sources.

COMPETENCIES:

Experience and knowledge of sales skills necessary to sell a premium-priced product. Maintains knowledge of Caterpillar and Ohio CAT Rental products and options. Competent in oral and written communication Ability to assess customer needs and evaluate customer satisfaction.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school graduate

  • College preferred

  • Two years of sales experience or customer service experience required.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard, and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
