In this role, you will engage in the designing, developing, and implementing of cutting-edge electrical systems for state-of-the-art industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities serving global leaders in technology. As an Electrical Engineer at SSOE, you will have a foundation in electrical engineering, focusing on low to medium voltage environments. The ideal candidate possesses experience with distribution panel loading, short circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations, conduit and conductor sizing, and cable tray fills. This position is a hybrid role that will require you to occasionally work onsite and be located in the Columbus, OH area. Fully remote or travel work arrangements for this role are not available. Responsibilities Generate comprehensive technical project plans, specifications, drawings, and models aligned with both industry standards, client requirements, and electrical engineering best practices. Determine conduit and conductor sizing, meticulously accounting for current loads and environmental variables. Assess cable tray fills methodically to guarantee proper cable management, organization, and future scalability. Perform detailed short circuit calculations to accurately determine fault currents, select appropriate protective devices, and ensure system safety. Perform precise voltage drop calculations to ensure electrical system stability and compliance with industry standards. Ensure all electrical designs rigorously comply with and exceed local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations to guarantee safety and quality. Apply established design techniques and exercises discernment in adapting and modifying design concepts as needed. Uphold quality control by adhering to company and team design and CAD standards. Will work with Sr. Engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders on specific assigned objectives, complex features, and aid in deriving possible solutions to unusual problems. Foster collaboration, communication, strategy, and support within your team, multidisciplinary groups (Electrical, Structural, Process/Chemical, Architectural, etc.), and inter-company teams to optimize efficiency, quality, and resource allocation. Conduct field verifications and site walks to identify, validate, resolve, and integrate solutions into design packages. Resolve design issues on-site during construction if necessary. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice, is required. Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) exam, with a focus on electrical engineering principles, is highly desired. Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD is required. Experience with other tools such as Revit, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, and/or EasyPower is a plus. Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., National Electric Code, NFPA, etc.). Salary Range: $68,000 - $98,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
