BH Inpatient Clinician I - Child Unit Therapy Requisition ID 2024-48467 Category Behavioral Health Overview The Behavioral Health Inpatient Therapist I is responsible for the provision of clinical assessment, behavioral health treatment, care coordination and crisis intervention of children, adolescents and their families. The Inpatient Therapist I practices under supervision and is working toward the goal of independent licensure. This individual is responsible for utilizing individual, family and group modalities within expected practice standards and as informed by the professional literature. The Inpatient Therapist will possess the skills to collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team on the Inpatient Psychiatry Unit, provide interventions, participate in rounds, and assist with treatment and discharge planning and post-hospitalization linkage. This individual will provide culturally appropriate, family-centered and trauma-informed interactions and interventions across all professional and clinical settings. Responsibilities Remains current in required licensure and clinical or other training as required. Satisfactory progress toward independent licensure is expected. Accurately assesses and documents client presenting problems, history, symptomology, mental status, diagnosis and prescribes initial interventions in a timely manner. Meets with client/family and works with treatment team to assist in developing specific, realistic, and measurable treatment goals and objectives. Employs strategies of intervention that are consistent with empirically supported treatments and consistent with program expectations. Remains current in general knowledge of psychopharmacology in pediatric behavioral healthcare and collaborates consistently with team psychiatrist. Completes clinical charting and other related documentation in accordance with policy standards. Practices within professional areas of expertise and under the supervision of an independently licensed practitioner. Maintains productivity expectations. As part of the treatment team, effectively coordinates client care with other service providers and community resources to assure continuity of care.1 Meets regularly with Inpatient Psychiatry Unit Behavioral Health Program Manager or designee.
