Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for renewing existing customers that qualify as small business.Managing customer relationships to ensure small business customers have reliable point of contact.

Executing on a variety of strategic renewal, retention and winback campaigns and provide feedback for improvements.Understand departmental policies and sales procedures/processes to assist customers.

Liaise with credit department to ensure viability of renewal based on credit history.Coordinate with Billing and Finance departments to resolve customer issues.Identify issues and make recommendations for process improvements and efficiencies based on prior cases.

Use in house technology to submit electric usage requests and evaluate historical usage and historical intervals.Submit production support requests and perform status checks on those requests.

Work with the Pricing and Operations departments to ensure executed contracts are reported, provisioned and billing as intended.

Participate in sales development meetings and strategy sessions; communicate ideas and philosophies that will further advance the effectiveness of small business renewals.

Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Associates degree required. Undergraduate degree preferred. Sales and/or Energy experience preferred.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.Ability to read and interpret general business and technical documents as well as deliver concise communication to AEP Energy, cross functional partners and customers.Present information clearly and effectively, responding to questions from sales, billing and finance teams.Proficiency with computer hardware components and software packages, especially Microsoft Office products.

Must have advanced working knowledge of excel with the ability to write formulas.Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.Strong service and results orientation.Methodical and organized work style—maintains notes, records, schedule, to-do lists. Ability to prioritize, plan proactively, manage conflicting priorities and multi-task effectively.Superior attention to detail and conscientious attitude relating to quality of work.Ability to work independently, with little instruction/supervision.

Effective problem-solving skills: ability to identify alternatives and develop unique solutions.Takes initiative; proactive approach; asks questions to ensure understanding/clarity.High-energy, drive and ambition.
