ABB Inc Quality Engineer - Columbus in Columbus, Mississippi

This is a Quality Engineer position with a company in Columbus, MS.

Responsibilities: Represents the Voice of the Customer within local teams. Manages the customer quality issues, perform root cause analysis and lead the implementation of the corrective actions to solve the customer quality issues. Manages internal quality systems (receiving inspection, scrap analysis, gage control, etc.) for assigned department. Manages the overall quality system and ensure retention of our ISO (International Organization for Standardization) certification. Sets and leads the quality strategy for the facility.

 

Requirements/Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology with minimum 2 years of relevant experience. Experience as a Quality Engineer within a manufacturing facility. ISO experience. Previous experience in customer support, service or client facing roles and previous knowledge or experience with electrical testing procedures. The ideal candidate should have at least a basic knowledge of the following principles and should be able to elaborate the concepts: lean manufacturing, 5S, 8D reports and PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) Data analysis/trending experience such as Minitab. Ability to work in team and great communication skills and diplomacy to deal with our customers. Strong quality systems/process experience and ability to work individually or within a team or large groups as required. Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
