Operations Intern

Position Overview

At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Operations Intern to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Responsibilities

  • Work with Operations Manager/Operations Team to plan, organize, and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations.

  • Assist in the proposal of strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.

  • Assist Operations Manager in monitoring operations and trigger corrective actions.

  • Share a trusting relationship with workgroup to help manage and develop plant staff.

  • Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime.

  • Commit to plant safety procedures.

  • Support the fostering of effective collaboration across work site that promotes drive for results and meeting production targets.

  • Assist in the development of systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.

    Minimum Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in business management, mechanical, industrial technology, or related field.

  • Experience contributing to a team in a fast-paced/comparative and/or self-directed environment.

  • Computer literacy with the ability to generate relative manufacturing reports.

  • Must be a U.S. Person.

    Preferred Requirements

  • Understanding of industry standard equipment and technical expertise.

  • Knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and stewardship processes.

  • Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources).

  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.

  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.

  • Ability to perform well under pressure.

  • Foster environment that is conductive to sustaining productive, professional, and respectful rapport among work team.

    Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and wear proper PPE.

  • Ability to transport objects up to 35 pounds as well as consistently stoop, crawl, bend, crouch, climb and kneel.

  • Day shift.

  • Work onsite in Columbus, MS.

  • The ability to travel to Aurora locations.
