PACCAR Inc Maintenance Engineering Intern Columbus, MS in Columbus, Mississippi

This Position is for Maintenance Reliability Engineering Intern Fall 2024 with a company in Columbus, MS

 

Job Summary: Intern/Co-op to provide daily support for machining line process readiness and improvements. Supports procurement of new auxiliary equipment, daily response to production needs, and engineering improvements in production and project environments. This is a temporary position. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities: Review maintenance work order (MWO) requests for content and clarity with Team Coordinator and maintenance employee(s) assigned to complete MWO. Requisition of all non-stock material required; reserve all tools necessary to complete job; estimate the craft labor required; collect and tag all stores and non-stock materials to complete MWO; Train Operator(s) on all aspects of production equipment in order to develop the skills required to complete daily Total Productive Maintenance (TPM); Develop standards for repetitive jobs, historical job estimates and MWO stock materials; Assist with designs and help implement modifications to existing systems; Assist with major maintenance, emergency repairs, and corrective actions on equipment and facilities; Support continuous improvement of quality maintenance activity. Enhance the development of predictive, preventive, and reliability centered maintenance programs,  including maintenance check sheets and predictive maintenance techniques and related engineering analyses.

 

Qualifications: Pursuing B.S. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial). MS Office proficiency (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint). Proven ability to work in a self-directed environment required. Desired: Knowledge of engine components preferred. Leadership/Participation in extracurricular engineering related projects or teams. AutoCAD Experience and Pro-E experience at a basic level.
