Our client, a leading manufacturer in the aerospace industry, is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Skilled Trades Technician to join their team. As a Technician, you will be part of the Engineering Department supporting various testing initiatives.

Job Title: Mechanical Engineering Technician

Location: Columbus, Indiana

Pay: $30/h + BENEFITS

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, repair, and prepare articles for testing and associated auxiliary equipment.

  • Install test articles into test structures, ensuring proper setup and alignment.

  • Perform tests according to established procedures and methodology, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.

  • Acquire and report data accurately, adhering to standard procedures and ensuring data integrity.

  • Design, setup, and configure test systems, interpreting requirements and selecting appropriate equipment.

Requirements

  • Action-oriented with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm.

  • Effective communicator with the ability to convey complex information clearly.

  • Strong ability to manage complexity and solve problems effectively.

  • Demonstrated decision-making skills and ability to drive results.

  • Experience or education in mechanical engineering or a related field, with relevant certifications preferred.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Automotive Technology, or similar field preferred.

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.

  • Relevant certifications or associate's degree from an accredited college program.

  • Compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations may be required.

Experience :

  • Significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education or training.

  • Completion of mandatory trainings and ability to communicate effectively with internal teams.

  • Familiarity with 5S methodology and fabrication skills preferred.
