Description

We are looking for a talented entry level Accelera buying analyst to join our # Accelera by Cummins business unit located in Columbus, Indiana.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Assists with purchase of requisitioned items and executes buying strategies in accordance with agreed upon buying plans at the optimum cost.

  • Analyzes sourcing information and presents findings for process improvement and cost reduction while maintaining high quality product and/or service delivery.

  • Assists in the procurement of services, inventory items, supplies, and capital goods.

  • Supports Six Sigma projects through active team membership or provision of data and market intelligence.

  • Liaises with Supply Chain Services to ensure suppliers are enabled on Ariba Network

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Action oriented - Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.

  • Communicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.

  • Purchasing Systems - Recognizes linkage to multiple systems such as purchasing order, payment, engineering release, and quality systems; troubleshoots and corrects issues resulting from data issues; writes ad-hoc reports using tools within each application; identifies and documents work flows and system testing; actively participates in implementation process of new purchasing systems including requirements gathering, design, communication, and training.

  • Sourcing - Utilizes the purchasing functional system to support the Request For Quote process and establish a Total Cost of Ownership comparison of suppliers based on the category strategy and define the supplier that is most likely to meet Cummins and customer's needs.

  • Purchasing Policies, Procedures, Tools - Complies with purchasing policies and procedures and complies with them in daily work; leverages tools to conduct procurement initiatives; assesses documents for clarification and seeks guidance for clarification of the information needed.

  • Supply Base Regulatory Compliance - Works with suppliers to advise them of any governmental regulations at a regional, national and global level as well as Cummins policies and procedures pertaining to regulatory compliance for the materials and services they provide; obtains documentation from the supplier in order to document evidence of compliance.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university or equivalent degree in a related business field such as supply chain management.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience Required:

  • 1-3 years relevant experience required

  • Uses data and analytics to drive cost prevention and savings with the objective of meeting cost targets

  • Supports sourcing specialist in maintaining project planning and tracking, providing delivery updates, and escalating when needed.

  • Responsible for developing supplier relationships for a subset of Suppliers, with the objective of improving service levels

  • Effectively communicates and collaborates with Engineering, Quality , Finance and Sourcing Managers to achieve program deliverables.

  • Takes part in special projects as needed to help support growth and development.

  • Execution of GSAR process (Supplier setup and maintenance)

Base salary range: 65,600 - 98,400

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
