Job Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for an NDT Level 2 Sonic Inspector at our growing facility in Columbus, Georgia. Columbus Forge, a recognized leader in producing disks and airfoils for the aerospace propulsion market, is looking for dedicated individuals to support our organization. This position is available on both the weekend day shift (6:30am - 6:30pm) and the weekend night shift (6:30pm - 6:30am).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Ultrasonic inspection functions in a manufacturing environment

  • Perform quality review metallurgical dispositions following procedures as required

  • Work with Material Control Lab and manufacturing personnel to investigate problems encountered through inspection and determine their effect upon the part

  • Complete classroom theory, OFT and certification examination as required by Pratt & Whitney NDT qualifications

  • Understand internal and external customer requirements with a high attention to detail in resolving findings

  • Responsible for signing-off product inspected

  • Re-certification required at interval specified by Pratt & Whitney qualifications

  • Perform daily walk around of equipment, maintain cleanliness of inspection area and be capable of troubleshooting equipment issues

  • Must be able to obtain NDT Certification within designated timeframe as required by Pratt & Whitney NDT qualifications

  • Must be willing to work any shift, including an alternate work week. Overtime may be required

    Basic Qualifications:

  • 2-year technical degree in a Non-Destructive Testing program OR Certification in Ultrasonic Inspection

  • In absence of a technical degree, must have 4 years of work experience in Non-Destructive inspection

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a quality/aerospace manufacturing environment

  • Knowledge of KB and IRT Ultrasonic systems

  • Experience using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Experience following quality procedures

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship
