Independently performs laboratory testing on patients of all ages using professional knowledge of laboratory procedures, executing, interpreting and/or analyzing, in an accurate and timely manner. Performs and monitors Quality Control /instrument maintenance. Enters/ retrieves/ transmits laboratory test data into LIS/HIS. Oversees the work of technicians, phlebotomists or lab assistants as directed by laboratory leadership. Must have Bachelors degree or foreign degree equivalent inClinical laboratory science, biomedical science, medical technology or in a life / biological science (biology, biochemistry, microbiology, etc.) and 12 months of experience as medical technologist in a clinical laboratory.Cert. as med. tech. or med. lab. scientist by Amer. Society Clinical Pathologists, Ameri. Med. Tech. or Amer. Assc. Bioanalysts, and experience with Laboratory and Hospital Information Systems, and applicable software applicationsrequired.
