Advertised Job Summary:

The College of Engineering and Computing at the University of South Carolina is in the process of expanding its tenured and tenure-track ranks significantly in the next several years. As part of this growth, the Biomedical Engineering ( BME ) Program seeks dynamic tenured and tenure-track faculty members for Fall 2022. All applicants must possess a Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering, bioprocess engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field and potential for excellence in teaching and research by the start date of employment (ABDs considered). Applicants for the rank of Associate or full Professor must also have a demonstrated record of teaching and research accomplishments consistent with University policy for appointments at that rank / with tenure. Applicants at the ranks of Associate and Full Professor whose expertise and approach align with both the core strengths of the BME program as well as cross-cutting initiatives identified by the College and School of Medicine are especially encouraged to apply. There are particular opportunities for broad synergy in biomaterials and biosensing research. Successful candidates will be expected to develop and maintain an internationally-recognized, externally-funded research program.
