Advertised Job Summary:

The Department of Electrical Engineering, in the College of Engineering and Computing, welcomes applications from candidates who contribute to increasing inclusivity in their fields, as historically underrepresented persons in higher education, and/or by pursing scholarship that contributes to understanding issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, past or present. The position Faculty Fellow falls under the University’s Bridge to Faculty Program that enables Scholars to deepen their research expertise, expand their scholarly profiles, undertake academic work in the Electrical Engineering department, and strengthen the College’s and University’s research community through their diverse perspectives. The position duration is two (2) years with the intent of transitioning the candidate into a tenure-track Assistant Professor position at the end of the two-year period contingent to satisfactory performance. A team of mentors will guide the candidate once hired.

The Faculty Fellow will:

(1) Conduct literature reviews; perform analysis, design, simulations and/or experiments; gather data; analyze, summarize, and interpret data; prepare and submit manuscripts of journal and conference papers; develop ideas, preliminary results, and plan for research grant proposals;

(2) Present and discuss research trajectory, outcomes, directions, and plan; seek guidance on potential transition to tenure-track position; review research progress considering challenges (if any) and seek guidance;

(3) Present papers at conferences; participate in other professional growth-related meetings; learn about the department’s teaching mission and interact with graduate students. Participate in Bridge to Faculty and other professional development activities and outreach; and

(4) Seek opportunities for collaboration within and outside disciplines and within the college and outside the college and university.

Advertised Minimum Qualifications :

Terminal degree in preferred or related field prior to start.
