Job Title: Certified Peer Mobile Response Specialist

Location: Columbia, Missouri

Department: Rapid Access Center

Employment Type: Part-time (12 hours per week)

Shift: Saturday days (7am-7pm)

Job Summary: Join our team at Burrell's Behavioral Crisis Center in Columbia, Missouri, and become an integral part of a compassionate and dedicated team providing rapid access to mental health services. As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will play a vital role in helping individuals in crisis recover from alcohol and drug dependencies, and achieve their goals.

As a Certified Peer Specialist, you'll play a vital role in empowering individuals on their path to recovery. Sharing your personal experience and knowledge, you'll inspire hope, validate progress, and celebrate successes. You'll also assist clients in identifying their strengths, developing coping strategies, and connecting them with valuable community resources. Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in treatment planning with the team and client

  • Engage clients in a collaborative and caring relationship, using interpersonal skills, knowledge about recovery, and a trauma-informed approach

  • Provide support to clients through validation, exploration, and pursuit of community roles, and convey hope and celebrate efforts and accomplishments

  • Share personal recovery experiences and practices to inspire and support clients

  • Assist clients in identifying their strengths and personal resources to aid in their recovery

  • Develop, maintain, and provide information about community resources and services

  • Accompany clients to community activities and attend relevant events

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Must have a valid driver's license and a favorable recent driving record.

  • Must be a Certified Missouri Peer Specialist
