Systems Engineer

DCCA is looking for experienced Mainframe Systems Engineers to create and maintain multiple test environments to support integrated testing of large legacy systems

  • Provide operational support for Mainframe test environments to meet the regression and new release testing requirements

  • Maintain CICS region PCT, FCT, and other load libraries required to run the applicable online system

  • Maintain all libraries required to initiate and complete batch cycles

  • Execute any utilities/programs that may be required to facilitate validation processes such as data extractions and file maintenance

  • Maintain files and libraries including test files, JCL libraries, parameter libraries, load libraries and other files.

  • Experience with Validate, a date simulation tool, to complete future-dated testing of CMS program mandates.

  • Support regression testing as required to facilitate file comparisons and validation

  • Support maintainer testing by building all necessary data as required for executing online tests and batch run cycles; support all grab-and-load operations in which specific beneficiaries and history data is migrated to the test environment(s)

  • Provide support and interconnectivity as required to complete query and response file data exchanges between the appropriate systems and test environments.

  • Establish and maintain data baselines, including history and beneficiary data, coordinated with the maintainer data baselines, as required to complete fully integrated run cycles.

  • Support testers in establishing specific beneficiaries with the required data to complete the testing of CRs with specific beneficiary requirements on an as needed basis.

  • Install all system software releases timely and accurately (same day as received)

  • Perform configuration management of the software by taking the CICS regions down and bringing the CICS regions up

  • Allocating/de-allocating files from the online CICS regions

  • Restoring VSAM files, databases, and other files as required to retest or re-execute run cycles; Completing daily back-ups of all testing environments

  • Set up data exchanges between the test environments and other CMS partner applications
