Description

Are you passionate about collaborating with a team of builders who own and operate a service that connects satellites to the cloud? A Software Development Engineer with AWS supports the development and delivery of key features as we innovate for our customers. On our team you will use your expertise to:

  • Design systems that ensure all parts of the service operate effectively with each other.

  • Collaborate with peers to evaluate requirements and technologies that close the gap between customer needs and service functionality.

  • Identify opportunities for optimization to make the service more efficient and cost effective.

  • Share your knowledge as you help mentor and coach other developers on our team.

This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

  • Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)

  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
