KBR is looking for talented individuals to become part of our team, and we are currently seeking a Sr. Antenna Test Engineer for our Columbia, MD support facility.Position Description:

The Senior Antenna Test Engineer will perform all antenna, material, and environmental testing of antennas to meet tasking requirements utilizing a planar near field range, anechoic chamber, and environmental test chamber.

The Senior Antenna Test Engineer will perform the following:

  • Act as a technical resource for testing antennas on antenna ranges, including far-field, spherical, or planar nearfield systems.

  • Develops and documents test procedures and schedules associated with conducting antenna and material testing covering a wide frequency spectrum. Analyzes test results and provides formal test reports to customers.

  • Conducts special studies and investigations related to project activities and recommends changes as appropriate to enhance efficiency and meet changed or new requirements.

  • Trains directs, and assists other engineering personnel to ensure task objectives are completed on schedule.

  • Serves as an organizational consultant regarding antenna performance measurements and materials testing.

  • Designs and modifies antennas to meet customer requirements.

  • May support the installation and upgrade of antenna systems at field locations.

  • Maintains electronic records library of test result data on completed customer testing tasks.

  • Support engineering tasks related to the repair, fabrication, assembly, production, installation, and testing of antennas and electronic hardware and systems.

  • Utilize and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, test manuals, test procedures, and performance specifications to perform tests.

  • Maintain equipment associated with operating test facility to include insuring equipment is calibrated and maintains adequate inventory of parts to supports maintenance and testing requirements. Shall design any brackets, mounts and fixtures needed to mechanically support/ attach and test antennas and test objects.

  • Set up antenna test sequences and interpret test data for validity.

  • Performs environmental testing on antennas and systems utilizing thermal chambers and running test routines for cycling systems through various predefined temperature ranges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering or other related science.

  • Experience: A minimum of thirteen years of experience relating to the field of antenna theory. At least 3 years of antenna testing on an automated system, utilizing a planar nearfield scanner, spherical nearfield scanner or far-field measurement system. Must have or be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.

Additional Qualifications:

Experience operating NSI nearfield antenna measurement systems is highly desired.
