Job Information

TEKsystems Network Engineer in Columbia, Maryland

Maintain and evolve the virtual and network infrastructure. This dynamic role encompasses daily technical support, installation, maintenance, and optimization of network hardware and software within a multi-vendor, multi-platform environment.

Secret Clearance Required.

Responsibilities:

· Planning, coordinating, configuring, installing, and managing all data and network infrastructure, including Kubernetes, Windows, and Linux systems, to ensure operational efficiency and meet business requirements.

· Providing technical expertise in implementing new technologies, focusing on Kubernetes containerization and Linux administration.

· Troubleshooting and resolving network-related issues with a focus on high availability and performance.

· Collaborating with System Architects and Engineers to design, optimize, and secure the infrastructure.

· Monitoring system activity and performance metrics, identifying potential issues, and implementing proactive solutions.

· Maintaining accurate documentation and logs of system configuration and changes.

Minimum Qualifications:

· 10+ years of experience in network infrastructure management.

· Bachelor's/Associate's degree in a technical field preferred.

· Secret clearance required.

· 5+ years of experience with VMware vSphere virtualization environments.

· 2+ years of experience in network engineering.

· 3+ years of experience in data center operations.

Preferred Experience:

· Familiarity with containerization technologies, especially Kubernetes.

· Experience installing, configuring, and administering Windows and Linux operating systems.

· Expertise with VMware technologies like vSphere, NSX-T, NSX Advanced Load Balancer, and vCloud Director (vCD).

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

· PKI Certificates

· Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
