IT Integration Technicians install IT-related equipment, hardware, radios, cables, connectors, follow processes and procedures, and read and follow CAD drawings.

Essential Functions / Responsibility:

  • Able to demonstrate competency in the following Basic IT Competencies on the job:

  • Audio/Visual

  • Radio

  • Wi-Fi & Cellular

  • Video Surveillance

  • Security/Intrusion Detection

  • Data & Networking

  • Voice

  • Follow the IT Integration Process Flow to perform all Integration-specific tasks necessary to complete each project according to the IT Engineer’s system design.

  • Read the Cable Runs spreadsheet and follow best practices running and dressing cables from the source and destination locations.

  • Install (crimping, soldering, etc.) the proper connectors at each end of the cables according to SWIs and best practices.

  • Install equipment according to the Rack Layout spreadsheet. Be able to mount hardware on shelf racks for a mobile environment.

  • Understand and follow a comprehensive Equipment Interconnects spreadsheet that shows all the in-rack patches and patch cable types between different rack-mounted equipment in the vehicle.

  • Follow and install antennas according to the Antenna Layout spreadsheet that shows the physical mounting locations of all RF antennas on the roof of the vehicle.

  • Run equipment tests and document results in a spreadsheet.

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot cabling, antennas, electronics, and accessories in the list of Core IT Competencies.

  • Track time accurately and consistently in ERP program for each step of the project.

  • Stay current on projects by reviewing daily edits/updates from other Technicians.

  • Assist Production (when needed) to complete projects, which may include work outside of the scope of IT.

  • Exhibit Nomad Core Values and apply them.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Basic Knowledge Desired:

  • Excellent knowledge about computers and electronics, including multi-band radios, A/V installation, soldering, computer hardware, and software that includes applications and basic configuring.

    Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, reach or operate objects, tools or controls.

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and sit.

  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted. Anything heavier than 50 pounds will require two people to lift / carry.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to distinguish colors.

  • Must have the ability to work from heights at ground floor up to 20’ from the ground on ladders or platforms of varying sizes.

  • This position requires physical stamina necessary to work in awkward positions, standing up for long periods, bending, stooping, and lifting.

    Working Environment:

  • The work environment is a partially environmentally controlled indoor environment. Depending upon the time of year, temperatures can fluctuate between 60F and 100F but is typically around 70F. There are times when working outside will be required.

  • The employee must have the ability to work from heights at the ground floor up to 20 feet from the ground on ladders or platforms of varying sizes.

  • The employee may be subjected to noise levels, ranging from low volume to loud and will be required to wear provided safety hearing devices from time to time, which will be provided.

  • The employee will be exposed to a variety of household/commercial chemicals that will require the employee to follow company rules/regulations outlined by that SDS.

  • All Team Members must wear provided OSHA approved eye protection at all times in manufacturing areas. The employee will be required to wear provided safety eyewear throughout the performance of their duties.

    Qualifications & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED. Further education preferred.

  • Any skills that fall under Nomad’s IT Core Competencies preferred.

  • 1-3 years of experience working in a manufacturing setting preferred but not required.

  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.
