Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with extensive space, missile defense, and technology development experience to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support the Missile Defense Agency at Schriever Space Force Base (SFB) in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

This position is primarily responsible for supporting Science and Technology (S&T) initiatives for the MDA/SS Chief Engineer and Senior Acquisition leadership and possibly includes mapping technology areas for future acquisition programs, technology coordination between internal stakeholders and external agencies and other duties as required. Candidate must be a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, can accomplish high-level tasks independently, and works well with other team members and customers.

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to: Providing advice and assistance to leadership and the team on problems, issues, and projects for assigned programs. Applying engineering solutions to improve operations and/or resolve unique or complex problems and issues. Translating user requirements into system requirements. Providing integration support for the acquisition, development, sustainment and verification of systems, software, and equipment using MDA Engineering processes, the Systems Engineering process ("V" diagram), and Agile processes. Documenting engineering activities, including writing reports, analyzing data, creating/understanding schedules, and making recommendations to the leadership and team. Working as a trusted, strategic partner with the customer by delivering actionable insights about emerging technologies as well as with technically minded external partners. Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 7 years' experience of relevant experience with master's degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics or relevant field.

Required Clearance: Must have an Active Secret with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI - eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information; US Citizenship required. Required Skills: Experience in technology development, systems engineering and systems integration Experience with space experience in operations, acquisition, and analysis Experience in missile defense industry and with engineering space programs Knowledge of DoD Systems Engineering best policies, practices, procedures Strong verbal and communication skills Strong Microsoft Office skills Desired Skills: DoD Level III certified in Systems Engineering (SPRD&E) or equivalent Experience in operational or developmental testing Project management experience, to include management of administrative requirements and deliverable tracking. Location/Travel Requirements: This position is located on-site at Schriever Space Force Base (SFB) in Colorado Springs, Colorado and requires to be onsite full-time May require travel up to 10% of time within the continental United States.
