Frontier Technology Inc. Senior Software Test Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Overview

As a Software Tester with FTI, your development activities at the Cyber Operations Branch program office adhere to Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). SAFe offers proven, integrated principles, practices, and competencies to implement lead, agile, and DevOps at scale. Additionally, this program office personifies DevSecOps which automates the integration of security at every phase of the software development lifecycle from initial design, through integration, testing, deployment, and software delivery. These development efforts shall result in two deployable defensive cyber solutions to protect, defend, and respond to USSF mission systems.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze test results and coordinate with the development teams for bug fixes.

  • Analyze the underlying causes of performance issues and provide corrective action.

  • Develop an automated test scenario and environment for performance testing.

  • Review and recommend improvements in existing test procedures.

  • Coordination with the testing team to develop performance test plans and cases.

  • Must be able to use all web methods like GET, PUT, POST, DELETE etc.

  • Must be able to validate xml and json body using json parser.

  • Know how to use the OAuth and OAuth2 authentication mechanisms.

  • Must be able to Load and Security testing on web services.

  • Designing and developing test automation scripts to create, enhance, debug, and run test cases.

  • Using test automation guidelines.

  • Researching issues in software through testing to validate feedback, response time, & error code.

Education/Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have anactive SECRET clearance.A Top Secret (TS) security clearance (with SCI and SAP eligibility) is HIGHLY desired.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development or STEM related specialty and 10 years' releated professional experience; Or Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, software development, or STEM related specialty and 8 years' related professional experience.

  • Experience with at least two of following programming languages: Java, Angular, Gitlab, RHEL, JIRA, Confluence, Zephyr & Python

  • Experience or knowledge in the following Areas: Agile methodologies, agile project management, software development life cycle management, program/project management, cross-functional team, agile software testing, test-driven development, software test planning, software test automation.

    Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity & knowledge:

  • SIMP Project, Docker, GIT, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Suricata, Zeek, Kibana, Logstash, Elastic Search, Neo4J, PostgreSQL.

  • Relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience in Space Systems Command.

  • Experience with Cyber Operations Branch (SSC/SZYO) program office.

  • Experience with DoD/ defense software factories.

  • SAFe for Teams, Agile Technical Tester, & Implementing Test Process Improvement certifications within 12 months of start date

    For this role, the compensation range for candidates in Colorado is ($160K- $200K) . Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. FTI has a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
