Title:

Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer

This team is under the Air Force TENCAP efforts, where we have many teams tackling a wide variety of problems. AF TENCAP exploits National space, cyber and intelligence capabilities to deliver rapid, cost-dominant, and innovative warfighting solutions across the full spectrum of Air Force and Joint military missions. AF TENCAP is a Congressionally mandated rapid acquisition organization supporting tactical and operational warfighters and serves as the Air Force executive agent for the Military Exploitation of Reconnaissance and Intelligence Technologies (MERIT) program. As the Air Force's leader for National-to-Tactical capability development, AF TENCAP collaborates with leading experts across the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, National Laboratories, industry, inter-agency, academia, and partner nations.

This will be on a small software team developing high-quality prototypes in support of the nation's defense. We build reliable software systems using sound engineering, analysis, and research.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Be an integral part of a learning collaborative team

  • Tackling rapid prototyping, integration, and ongoing development efforts tailoring the solution to each project's need

  • Provide mentorship, practical experience, and participate in setting technical direction

    Job Qualifications :

  • 3+ years of experience in full-stack software development

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent practical experience

  • Experience with web client development, including offline capable clients

  • Experience with Web UI systems such as react, elm, phoenix

  • Experience with backend programming languages such as Elixir, Go, Java, C++, …

  • Experience using the Git version control system

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • A desire for learning and self-improvement in technical and soft skills

    Desirable Experience:

  • Interfacing with database systems especially relational and geospatial databases (postgresql, mariadb, postgis, arcgis)

  • Familiar with legacy and modern software design patterns

  • Designing, Debugging, profiling, and optimizing complex systems (multi-threaded, distributed, clustered)

  • Using and configuring CI/CD pipelines in systems like GitLab, Bamboo, and Argo CD

  • Container based development, Kubernetes orchestration and deployment

  • Familiarity with existing works on quality and productivity like Dr. Deming's Research, The DevOps Handbook, DORA's State of DevOps Report, Accelerate, and Peopleware

    Basic Compensation: $118,020 - $176,925

    The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

    Additional Compensation:

    KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
