The Systems Engineering Division (SED) provides unmatched experience in systems engineering to the U.S. government and to numerous public and private agencies, universities, nonprofit organizations, consortia, and commercial companies involved in the advanced application of space technology. In the Performance Modeling and Analysis Department, we are excited to solve tough problems and explore novel ideas, and we are driven to empower people to make a difference. We are looking for a Senior Communication Architecture Analyst(Senior Engineering Specialist - Modeling & Simulation Engineering)that will make use of sophisticated simulation tools in support of requirements verification, analyses-of-alternatives (AoA), and performance modeling for space-based communications architectures. This technical leader will mentor early- and mid-career staff, especially in the areas of effective engagement with customers, career development, teamwork, collaboration, analysis techniques, and data visualization.

This full-time position requires 100% onsite work in El Segundo, CA, Chantilly, VA, or Colorado Springs, CO.

What You'll Be Doing

Provide analysis to support recommendations for research, development, and acquisition decisions oflegacy and emerging customer space communications architecturesincluding related ground systems and supporting technologies.

Independently translate customer needs into project objectives and instructions for analysts, assemble and lead multi-disciplinary technical teams, coordinate complex technical tasks among team members, track team performance, and review team products for quality and accuracy.

Develop and present timely and technically-accurate presentations and reports that clearly communicate analysis results and provide recommended solutions to technical leads, management, and customers.

Aid in sustainment, development, and growth of the organization's analysis and simulation capabilities to support new functional areas for our diverse customer base.

Independently develop and strengthen relationships with senior program office managers and customer senior leadership.

What You Need to be SuccessfulSenior Communication Architecture Analyst Senior Engineering Specialist - Modeling & Simulation Engineering

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, physics, operations research, mathematics

12 years of increasingly responsible engineering experience.

Knowledge in one of these specific national security space or intelligence mission areas: geo-spatial intelligence, signals intelligence, space surveillance, space protection, ground systems, or communications infrastructure supporting defense or intelligence capabilities.

Demonstratedtechnical leadership, personal ac ountability, and adaptability to changing customer expectations.

Proficiency in astrodynamics or space operations.

Experience with one or more software languages that may include Python, C++, or MATLAB.
