Volt has an immediate opening for an Quality Inspector for our client company located in beautiful Colorado Springs. This position offers a friendly work environment and opportunities for advancement.

Description:

Inspect and evaluate complex printed circuit boards (PCB) to include first article, in-process and final inspection, boxbuild assemblies and customer parts, using customer documentation to determine compliance. Possess keen visual acuity and knowledge of quality control, production processes and other techniques for maximizing and maintaining a high degree of quality. High attention to detail and organization skills are critical.

Duties and Responsibilities: Read and interpret assembly drawings, product specific documentation and work instructions Determine compliance of assemblies and materials Inspect product to IPC 610 Class 2, Class 3 and identify non-conformances Perform in accordance to IPC-A-610 workmanship STD and/or IPC J-STD-001 (Certification a plus) Proficiently use measurement and inspection equipment (microscopes, calipers, multi-meters, ohm meters) Operate Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment as well as inspect for accurate, consistent detection of SMT paste, component placement and solder joint defects Ensure top quality of assemblies and materials Advise appropriately for any non-compliance or other quality issues Understand Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) controls Work diligently and with a sense of urgency without compromising quality Identify thru-hole and surface mount parts with resp ect to polarity and component identification. Crosstrain in order to be able to assist other workers/sections in their tasks. May be tasked to assist or lead in the operation surface mount equipment Other duties as assigned The ideal candidate will have: Must possess a strong work ethic and able to work with limited supervision Strong interpersonal and organization skills. Intermediate computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel 3 to 5 years in circuit board manufacturing, along with mechanical inspection Experience in working an ISO9001 or AS9100 certified electronics-manufacturing environment Excellent written and verbal communications skills internally and externally Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment

Pay: $17.75 - $18.25 per hour
