SAIC Network Engineer in COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado

Description

SAIC has an exciting opportunity for a Network Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO at Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Event Operations Lead by providing network monitoring, troubleshooting, and reporting during Missile Defense Agency (MDA) test events

  • Provide communications (Secure VoIP, Secure Chat) support during MDA test events

  • Coordinate with MDA elements to gather and verify connectivity information required for MDA test events and create an Event Communications Baseline document for that MDA test event

  • Assist the Event Operations Lead and Network Operations Lead with the design, implementation, and support of LAN/WAN networks and systems

  • Assist the Network Operations Lead with the development and maintenance of network system and service configurations

  • Document and troubleshoot network and system issues

  • Create and maintain network diagrams and documentation

  • Test and evaluate network systems and services to reduce problems and make improvements

  • Assist with the configuration, implementation, and utilization of NetScout, Gigamon, and ExtraHop devices and other network monitoring tools

  • · Occasional travel (up to 10%) to support various hardware upgrades at remote sites, but not required in the first year of employment

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, with 5 years of relevant experience. Four years' experience can be considered in lieu of degree.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance or have the abillity to obtain one; US Citizenship required.

Experience/Skills Requirements:

  • Must have CompTIA Security+ or CISSP Certification

  • Must have CCNA or higher Cisco professional certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire

  • Experience with Cisco routing and switching design and configuration

  • Experience deploying and managing TACLANEs or other cryptographic equipment

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Visio

  • Potential for travel (CONUS and OCONUS - Up to 10% per year and up to 14 days at a time) and ability to obtain a US Passport

Desired knowledge, skills and experiences:

  • Experience deploying and managing firewalls (Palo Alto and/or Cisco ASA)

  • Experience with network management and monitoring toolsets such as NetScout, NetScout Pulse, Wireshark, ExtraHop, SolarWinds, etc.

  • Familiar with Windows and Linux workstation and server configuration and operation

  • Familiar with multicast network configuration and operation

  • Familiar with Cisco Unified Communications and AV endpoints such as VoIP Phones and VTC Units

Target salary range: $75,001 - $100,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
