Skyline Products Electrical Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Skyline Products is hiring for an Electrical Engineer.   The successful candidate will be working in three areas.  1) Responsible for developing AC and DC wiring diagrams for signs inclusive of BOM part numbers.  2) Work closely with senior engineers to design and layout pcba’s for items such as single board computers, environmental control, LED sign/message control, etc.  3) Product life cycle and customer support (redesigns to design-in alternate components or replacements due to components that are end-of-life).

Areas of exposure:

  • Altium (PCB Layout)

  • Real-time embedded system design

  • Microcontroller and SOC architectures

  • Serial communication protocols RS2332, RS485, Ethernet, SPI and IC2

  • Design for testability

  • Embedded firmware (not required but a plus)

  • LabVIEW (not required but a plus)

    QUALIFICATIONS

  • Embedded systems, microprocessors (ARM,PIC,etc), memory (SRAM, DDR), I/O

  • Schematic capture and layout of multi-layer PCB exposure.

  • Troubleshooting skills using lab equipment such as logic analyzers and o-scopes

  • Circuit and system design

  • Ability to analyze and select components

  • Write technical specifications and assist with functional specifications as well as the creation of test documentation, procedures, and validation.

  • Validate products against standards documents

  • Troubleshoot and debug existing products as well as new development

  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously

  • Flexible attitude fostering the ability to work closely with others.

Compensation: $75k - $115K
