Universal Health Services CLINICAL MANAGER in COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado

Responsibilities

The Clinical Manager is ultimately responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the acute residential, and adolescent programs which includes both clinical programming as well as operations. Duties include provision of weekly supervision for Master’s level interns and unlicensed therapeutic staff; providing oversight, training, employment coaching for techs, nurses, and therapists including participation in performance reviews and disciplinary action; facilitation of regular therapist and team meetings; provision of training for hospital staff as well as community agencies; participation in regular treatment team/rounds meetings; developing unit programming including unit schedules, program content for nursing staff and therapy staff, special activities and programming, etc; completion of a variety of performance improvement audits in order to maintain regulatory preparedness; engaging in problem solving and interventions with difficult patients and/or families; participation in a variety of departmental and hospital committees; and to act as the Director of Clinical Services when the Director is unavailable. Other tasks may be added as needed as determined by the Director of Clinical Services.

Qualifications

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

  • Frequently stands, walks, kneels, reaches while working with patients/residents/students.

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and physical restraint of patients.

  • Ability to perform CPR and first aid.

  • Ability to work rotating shifts. Ability to drive a vehicle if necessary.

  • Must be able to speak, read and write.

  • Ability to visually supervise residents & hear requests for assistance from patients and staff.

  • Emotional stability necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Vision and hearing sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job.

    SKILLS:

    Requires strong organizational and communication skills, working knowledge of personal computer, ability to maintain confidentiality. Able to complete required paperwork according to established protocol and regulatory agency requirements. Must be able to maintain professional and appropriate boundaries with clients and families. Ability to act professionally in high stress situations.

    EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

    Masters degree in Counseling, Psychology or Social Work. One year clinical experience working with children, adolescents and adults.Full clinical licensure (i.e. LPC, LCSW, LMFT) required. Experience providing clinincial and administrative supervision preferred. Some positions require a valid Colorado driver's license with a good driving record. CPR and first aid certification also required.

    STAFF DEVELOPMENT REQUIREMENTS:

    Must meet or exceed hospital and regulatory agency training requirements.
