OBJECTIVE:

To work under minimal supervision and perform complex professional engineering assignments related to: Automation, manufacturing and process engineering. Responsible for identifying and implementing improvements to all plant automation systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES: *denotes essential job functions

*(1) Analyzes, tests, evaluates, investigates and solves moderately complex problems relative to

engineering projects.

*(2) Identifies and Implements automated data capture programs including hardware and software

*(3) Identifies improvement opportunities related to automation and controls that drive increases in performance, quality, efficiency, or cost reduction.

*(4) Design and Troubleshoot plant automation systems including Allen Bradley PLC Ladder Logic, electronic components, sensors, I/O devices, Remote I/O.

(5) Prepares and maintains statistical data, charts, specifications and reports relative to the plant’s

processes.

*(6) Works with technicians or maintenance personnel, providing technical guidance as necessary.

*(7) Oversees and coordinates with outside vendors. Develops services specifications and solicits, evaluates, and recommends bids.

*(8) Develops, justifies and procures resources for capital projects.

(9) Designs, supports, and troubleshoots mechanical/electrical drives and control systems.

(10) Assists Production and facility Maintenance with problem solving including, but not limited to process quality, equipment performance, and/or cost reduction.

(11) Assists in the formulation of written training, maintenance or safety procedures and perform training as needed.

*(12) Follows all Plant rules/regulations and works to acceptable industrial standards, GMP’s and QSR

programs.

*(13) Must comply with all safety procedures and programs.

*(14) Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor

EDUCATION: MINIMUM REQUIREMENT

B.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience. Prefer Electrical or Computer Engineering, . Prefer experience with a manufacturer of FDA Medical Device(s). Knowledge of GMP’s/QSR a plus.

EXPERIENCE: MINIMUM REQUIREMENT

Up to ten years of diverse professional engineering assignments; minimum of five years of related experience.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Must have good written and verbal communication skills. Good listening and interpersonal skills.

Experience with Allen Bradley RSLogix 500/5000 and FactoryTalk View.

Prefer experience with AB FactoryTalk Batch and Asset Center

Prefer experience with Robotic Packaging

Work independently and exercise good judgment.

Can plan and organize the work of others.

Be a team player.

Pro-active safety and housekeeping practices.
