Within our Process Discipline, we are looking for a HSE DESIGN ENGINEER for industrial plants, mainly Pharma.

HSE Design Engineer will be part of team working for major international clients in the Pharma markets, focused to provide technical solutions and deliver complex projects.

The HSE Design Engineer is responsible, in collaboration with other Disciplines, for ensuring that all legal requirements, authority considerations and best engineering practices related to HSE are incorporated in all phases of a projects.

He/She will play a key role within the team, giving instruction and checking the design in terms of safety and environmental issues.

Primary job responsibilities are:

  • to provide a direct day-to-day support to the Project Team to define the approach for proper implementation and reviewing of all safety issues in the design of a project and to support the Team during follow up activities

  • to coordinate and perform Risk assessment reviews and HSE assessments during the design phase, primarily HAZID, HAZOP (knowledge of SIL analysis will be a plus) including follow up of related follow up of the corrective actions, considering both international applicable norms and standards and Client’s standards/procedures

  • to perform (or review) the Hazardous area classification according to ATEX Directive

  • to coordinate the design according to PED Directive requirements

  • to perform HSE training

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in HSE in specialized company or in engineering company; 5 years of experience will be a plus for the candidate

  • Knowledge about the updated norms and standards regarding safety aspects of the design, and environmental

  • Experience in chairing HAZID/HAZOP workshop

  • Experience in HSE aspects in engineering design (safety distances, ergonomics, fire & gas, etc)

  • Team working capability

  • Fluent in English and Italian (knowledge of French or German Language is considered a valuable plus)

  • Availability to travel in Italy and Europe for short time for design reviews
