As a Mechanical Engineer II on the OE Strategic Business Unit here at Dorman Products, you will be a part of dynamic cross-functional team driving to get our customers top quality automotive products. You will be working alongside other engineers on the OE team, as well as contributors on other teams including Quality Engineering, Supply Chain, Program Management, Sales, and Global Supplier Quality, while working through your various programs. You will be the lead engineer on programs that include a variety of automotive products for a variety of automotive customers. As a Mechanical Engineer at Dorman, you will be responsible for driving the development of products at our global contract manufactures while ensuring our customer requirements are being met. Primary Duties:

Leaddevelopment of new products, support wide range of automotive products.

Consultwith existing and potential customers to assess and understand product requirements.

Collaboratewith supply chain contributors and suppliers to ensure initial quotes and product development align with customer needs.

Ensurethat customer specifications are met and clearly communicaterequirements to the product development team.

Reviewinternal documentation to assess feasibility of existing product offering.

Providesexpertise and support to sales team to communicate product details and engineering capabilities.

Manage the requirements for PPAP and review accompanying documentation.

Analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets functional, reliability and quality requirements.

Qualifications: Technical degree (BS) in mechanical engineering with 3+ years of experience; or Associate degree with 5+ years of experience

Experience in a customer-facing role

Basic knowledge of SolidWorks orother CAD software

Knowledge of GD&T drafting techniques

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Access

Understanding of manufacturing capabilities, i.e. machining, stamping, casting, injection molding, electronics assembly

Basic knowledge of automotive mechanical & electrical systems

Experience working in a cross-functional team
