The available opportunity is a critical role within Carrier’s fast-paced commercial chiller manufacturing business. It requires a self-directed focus on increasing production and operations efficiency, through people management, technology and business organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The selected incumbent will be required to work closely with production, manufacturing engineering and maintenance to achieve operational goals. Activities involve troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical systems; research, development, design, testing and assistance in building electromechanical systems and controls.

  • Analyze and determine best equipment setup and process flow for maximizing processes of parts within a manufacturing environment.

  • Implement process improvement/development utilizing the Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) operating system and skills training.

Qualification:

  • Candidate needs excellent project management skills and be comfortable at providing briefings at all levels of management and key customer contacts. We are seeking a highly motivated, organized and flexible individual that is customer and results focused.

  • Candidate needs solid understanding of lean principles and systems thinking (TPM, Setup Reduction, QCPC, 3P, 5S, Manufacturing Standard Work Teams) to effectively lead projects and process improvement initiatives.

  • Knowledge of NEC Electrical Code, NFPA guidelines, and OSHA Press safety, Safety PLC Standards (Class I Div III)

  • Fundamental troubleshooting skills involving electrical design and system analysis

  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner as well as ability to effectively lead and team with multiple functional groups to reach a common objective

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5 + years of work experience

  • Work experience as a controls engineer in a unionized manufacturing plant is highly preferred

  • Work experience with sheet metal stamping and high volume assembly knowledge is highly preferred

  • Work experience with Allen Bradley and/or Siemens machinery is highly preferred

  • Position may have to work 2nd shift during peak seasonal periods of the year
